Fig 2: Fine structure is revealed after application of SeDDaRA. Some artifacting is apparent due to jpeg image compression. NASA uses a lowless compression called LOCO-I (LOw COmplexity LOssless COmpression for Images) to transmit the images from the Mars surface. Unfortunately, the images released to the media are not lossless.
